Cookie Policy
Effective
The short version
This website uses one non-essential cookie category — analytics — and it is switched off until you turn it on. Nothing is requested from Google Analytics, and no analytics cookie is written, unless you press Accept on the consent banner. If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is ever set and nothing about your visit is sent to Google.
We run no advertising, no social media pixels, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. The same rule applies to every visitor, wherever you are — we do not ask for consent in Europe and assume it elsewhere.
What may be set, and when
| Cookie or storage | Set by | Purpose | When |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm and similar |
Cloudflare (hosting & CDN) | Strictly necessary. Distinguishes humans from bots to protect the site from abuse. Expires about 30 minutes after you stop browsing. | Possible on any page, if enabled by our provider |
aerosens.consent (browser local storage, not a cookie) |
This website | Strictly necessary. Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so you are not asked on every page. Holds only that answer, its date, and whether your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal was on when you answered — no identifier, and it is never sent to a server. Kept for 1 year, then we ask again. | Only once you answer the banner |
_ga, _ga_<stream id> |
Google Analytics 4, set as first-party cookies on aerosens.com | Analytics. Distinguishes one visitor from another and holds the session, so we can count visits and see which pages get read. Expires 2 years after your last visit. | Only if you press Accept |
| YouTube playback storage | YouTube / Google | Playback preferences and abuse prevention for the embedded player. | Only after you press play |
Strictly necessary cookies of the first kind are used purely to deliver and protect the site and do not track you across other websites.
How the analytics consent works
Most sites load their analytics tag immediately and let a consent tool decide afterwards what it may store. We don't. Until you press Accept, the Google Analytics script is never requested — your browser makes no connection to Google's servers, so there is no cookie to set and no page view to send, not even an anonymous one.
When you do accept, we load Google Analytics 4 with advertising features switched off: Google Signals and ad personalization are both disabled, so your visit cannot be folded into advertising audiences or matched to you across devices. We use the result to count visits and see which pages are read. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not sell or share it.
If you reject, we record only that answer (plus whether the Global Privacy Control signal was on at the time), and the tag stays unloaded. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection and don't show you the banner at all — you have already told us. Switching that signal on after you had accepted turns analytics back off, because it is the newer statement of what you want. Accepting deliberately while the signal is on is respected as the deliberate choice it is.
Changing your mind
Your choice is not permanent, and withdrawing is as easy as giving. Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page — or the button below — to reopen the banner and switch analytics on or off.
Choosing Reject after having accepted also deletes the _ga cookies already on your device, and reloads the page so the Google Analytics script is genuinely gone rather than merely switched off. We ask again after a year in any case, so consent never sits unreviewed indefinitely.
One thing withdrawal does not do: it does not reach back and delete measurements already sent to Google before you withdrew. Those expire under the retention period in our Privacy Policy. If you want them removed sooner, email us the value of your _ga cookie and we can ask Google to delete that specific record.
Videos are click-to-load
Our product videos are not embedded live. What you see before pressing play is a static poster served from our own site — no request reaches YouTube, and nothing is stored in your browser, until you actively choose to watch. When you do press play, the player loads in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which limits what is stored compared with a standard embed. Playback is still subject to Google's privacy policy.
Managing cookies in your browser
Separately from the controls above, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and every major browser lets you refuse third-party cookies entirely. Nothing on this site depends on a cookie to work, so blocking them breaks nothing here — the only features affected are analytics and embedded video playback. Clearing your browser storage also clears the record of your consent choice, so the banner will ask again on your next visit.
Changes to this policy
If we add functionality that changes what is stored in your browser, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Should we ever introduce a new non-essential cookie or a new purpose, we will ask for your consent again before setting it.
